The UPC-302D is a fanless industrial box PC built for stations that are heavy on peripherals in both directions: nine USB ports and five RS232 serial ports on one chassis. It suits check-in and service counters, test and inspection benches, laboratory benches and any retrofit where the device list mixes USB peripherals with instruments that still speak RS232.

Nine in total: five USB 2.0 and four USB 3.0, all Type-A on the chassis. The USB 3.0 group is for cameras or fast storage; the USB 2.0 group takes scanners, printers, readers, indicators and dongles. Because the sockets are on the machine, the powered hub that would otherwise live inside the cabinet disappears — and with it the re-enumeration problem that follows every power cut.

Because real stations are mixed. Document and passport readers, weighing indicators, label printers and legacy machine controllers often stay on RS232 permanently — their protocols and their certification do not move to USB. The {model} gives you five DB9 channels for those and nine USB ports for everything else, so neither group needs an adapter or a converter stack.

Counter and bench work: check-in and service counters with readers, printers and cameras; test and inspection benches with instruments on serial and cameras on USB; laboratory benches with analysers and meters; and retrofit cabinets where an old controller had a stack of serial devices and the replacement must take them all on, plus the USB peripherals that arrived later.

No external hub is required for typical station loads: the nine sockets are supplied by the chassis, and the USB 3.0 pair is the natural home for anything drawing real current, such as a camera or an external SSD. Devices that need more than a standard port can deliver — a large USB disk, for example — should still be powered separately, which is normal practice on any industrial PC. 8–32GB DDR5 with a 1× mSATA SSD. DDR5 matters here for the same reason the ports do: a station driving nine USB devices and five serial channels is bandwidth-bound before it is compute-bound, and 32GB leaves room for image buffers, a local log and the application at the same time.

12V DC on a 3-pin pluggable terminal block, with 9–36V DC optional, and startup selectable between AT and ATX. The chassis measures 337 × 160 × 47.5 mm and weighs 3.7 kg — heavier than the 2.3 kg models in the same footprint because of the nine USB sockets and five DB9 shells and their termination. It mounts on a wall bracket or a VESA plate.

It is completely fanless: no fan, no filter, and no air path drawing cabinet dust, metal filings or oil mist across the boards, which is what kills a counter PC in a workshop or a service area. Operating temperature is 0–50 ℃ as standard with −40–70 ℃ optional, storage is −10–60 ℃, humidity is 10%–90% non-condensing, and certifications are CE, FCC and BIS to EN 55032 and EN 55035 with ODM BIOS, boot-on-LOGO and OEM branding available.
