The EPC-309E is a fanless industrial box PC built on the Intel® Core™ 10th Gen platform with four Intel I210 Gigabit LAN ports and six serial channels. It sits below the five-port EPC-302E in the family and above the smaller single-purpose modules: the 309E is for cabinets that need several separate networks and a real serial chain, but not five networks or a 12th Gen processor budget.

Cost and continuity. The 10th Gen Core builds run on DDR4, which is what most customers already stock, and the platform is supported by the operating systems the machines in the field are already imaged with — Windows 10 / 11 and Linux Ubuntu 16.04 to 22.04. If your software is qualified on DDR4 and you do not need the extra cores, the 10th Gen build is the cheaper way to get the same four LAN ports, the same serial count and the same chassis.

Six: 4× RS232 and 2× RS485, all on standard DB9 sockets. The two RS485 ports are the important ones for cabinets, because RS485 is multi-drop — one port drives a chain of meters, inverters or sensors over a single twisted pair rather than one device per socket. With four RS232 channels left over, the RS232-only instruments in the same panel stay wired directly instead of going through converters.

Keeping traffic apart without buying another switch. A common layout is: port 1 for the machine or PLC network, port 2 for the plant and MES side, port 3 for a vision camera or instrument subnet, and port 4 for commissioning, remote access or the link to the neighbouring cell. Each segment keeps its own address range and its own firewall rules. The controllers are Intel I210, so teaming, VLAN tagging and jumbo frames behave predictably.

Yes. It carries 1× HDMI and 1× VGA and drives them simultaneously, which is uncommon on a multi-LAN box PC. VGA still matters in a lot of plants: existing industrial monitors, older KVMs and long analogue cable runs are VGA, and having the output on the chassis saves an adapter that would otherwise hang off the machine.

Three builds, all on the same chassis and the same I/O: the i3-10110U at 2.1–4.1 GHz, the i5-10210U at 1.6–4.2 GHz, and the six-core i7-10710U at 1.1–4.7 GHz. Part numbers are C10.03.08.001, C10.03.08.002 and C10.03.08.003 respectively. Standard memory is 8GB in every build.

4–32GB DDR4 with a 1× mSATA SSD. Standard memory is 8GB across all three builds, so the part number tells you exactly what arrives. DDR4 is the point of this platform for many customers — it is the memory type already qualified with their software and already held in their spares cabinet.

12V DC through a 3-pin pluggable terminal block, with 9–36V DC optional for vehicles and DC-bus cabinets, and AT / ATX startup modes. The chassis measures 337 × 160 × 47.5 mm and weighs 2.14 kg — the lightest of the 337 mm family — and mounts on a wall bracket or a VESA plate.

It is completely fanless, so there is no filter to clean and no air path carrying cabinet dust across the boards. Operating temperature is 0–50 ℃ as standard with −40–70 ℃ optional, storage is −10–60 ℃, and humidity is 10%–90% non-condensing. Certifications are CE, FCC and BIS to EN 55032 and EN 55035, the factory is ISO 9001:2015, and ODM support covers custom BIOS, boot-on-LOGO and OEM branding.
