What is BlockCore™ and how does it work?+
BlockCore™ is CESIPC’s modular compute architecture. Every product is built from the same stack: an i-Core Board (the compute engine), i-Function and i-Connect expansion boards (for GPIO, 4G, HDMI, serial ports, etc.), and an enclosure. By choosing a different enclosure, the same core platform becomes four different product lines: an Industrial PC (aluminum, headless), a Panel PC (aluminum + IP65 touchscreen), a Rugged Tablet PC (drop-proof enclosure), or an IP69K Panel PC (304 stainless steel, fully waterproof). System integrators only need to learn one platform to deploy across all four form factors.
What is the difference between the four BlockCore™ product lines?+
All four share the same i-Core Board and expansion module ecosystem, and differ only in enclosure and display: the EPC-10XA Industrial PC has an aluminum enclosure with no display, for headless edge computing and OEM integration. The EPC-S15X2A Panel PC adds a 15″ IP65 capacitive touchscreen, for HMI and SCADA. The TPC-1082A Rugged Tablet PC uses a drop-proof IP65 enclosure for mobile field use. The WPC/IP69K Panel PC uses a 304 stainless steel enclosure with a fully waterproof screen rated to IP67/IP69K, for food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical washdown environments.
What is the difference between EPC-S1562A, EPC-S1572A, EPC-S1592A, and EPC-S1522A?+
These are four model variants within the EPC-S15X2A series, each with a different processor platform. EPC-S1562A uses Celeron J1900 (entry-level, low power). EPC-S1572A uses Celeron J6412 (newer node, better efficiency). EPC-S1592A uses 10th Gen Core i3/i5/i7 (high performance). EPC-S1522A uses 12th Gen Core i3/i5/i7 (latest platform, DDR5). All four share the same 15″ IP65 enclosure, I/O layout, and mounting dimensions.
Can I upgrade the processor without changing the enclosure or expansion boards?+
Yes — this is one of the core advantages of BlockCore™. The i-Core Board is a separate module. Upgrading from CES-1602 (J1900) to CES-1902 (10th Gen) or CES-1201 (12th Gen) requires only swapping the compute board. The enclosure, I/O expansion boards, cabling, and mounting hardware remain identical. This eliminates re-certification and redesign costs when upgrading processor platforms mid-product lifecycle.
Can I add 4G wireless or GPIO expansion to the EPC-S15X2A?+
Yes. The EXB-D22C1 i-Function Board adds 4G LTE Full Netcom wireless. The EXB-D22C2 adds 8-channel GPIO input/output. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can be added via the onboard M.2 2230 slot. All expansion boards connect through the BlockCore™ interface — no enclosure modification required.
What is the difference between IP65 and IP69K, and which product should I choose?+
IP65 protects against dust and low-pressure water jets — suitable for factory floors, machine tools, and general industrial environments. IP69K additionally withstands high-pressure, high-temperature water jets (80°C, 80–100 bar) from all angles — required for food processing, dairy, meat processing, pharmaceutical cleanrooms, and chemical facilities that undergo daily steam or chemical washdown. Choose the EPC-S15X2A Panel PC for IP65 environments, and the WPC/IP69K Panel PC for IP69K environments.
