Who the EPC-309A configuration is for
The EPC-309A is the 10th Gen Intel Core configuration of CESIPC’s EPC-30XA fanless embedded industrial PC. It is built with one of three 15 W processors — Core i3-10110U, i5-10210U or i7-10510U — up to 4 cores, 8 threads and 4.9 GHz on the i7, with 8 GB of DDR4 memory expandable to 32 GB and a 128 GB SSD.
Specify it when one box has to concentrate serial traffic and process it: a Modbus or OPC UA gateway across six live links plus an in-box database, a local historian, or several SCADA clients on the same 337 mm chassis. Up to 32 GB of DDR4 and a Core i7-10510U at 4.9 GHz keep the serial polling loop on time while the background work runs.
It carries four USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports — the highest USB 3.0 count in the series. That suits USB 3.0 data sticks, external SSDs or a camera, while the two USB 2.0 ports still take a keyboard and a legacy USB-to-serial adapter.
The serial side is unchanged from the rest of the series: six DB9 ports, four RS-232 and two RS-485, on a chassis 337 mm wide precisely so they fit without an expansion card. Intel UHD graphics drive the HDMI and VGA outputs.
Choose the EPC-302A instead when the same six-port box also has to run GPU work: camera inspection, defect classification or edge inference. The 12th Gen boards add Iris Xe graphics on the i5 and i7, which the 10th Gen UHD graphics cannot match — the chassis, port layout and mounting are identical.
Choose the right EPC-30XA configuration
All four configurations share the same 337 × 160 × 47.5 mm extruded aluminium chassis, the same mounting bracket and VESA pattern, the same 327 × 100 mm installation footprint, the same 6× DB9 serial (RS-232 ×4 + RS-485 ×2) and the same 2× Intel I210 Gigabit LAN. Only the compute board, memory, storage, USB mix and integrated graphics change.

FAQ
Answers for the EPC-309A build. Platform-wide questions — chassis, protection, mounting and the upgrade path — are answered on the EPC-30XA overview page.
What processors are available in the EPC-309A?
The EPC-309A is built with one of three 15 W 10th Gen Intel Core processors: Core i3-10110U (2 cores, 4 threads, 2.1–4.1 GHz, 4 MB cache), Core i5-10210U (4 cores, 8 threads, 1.6–4.2 GHz, 6 MB cache) or Core i7-10510U (4 cores, 8 threads, 1.8–4.9 GHz, 8 MB cache). All three use Intel UHD graphics and the same board, so the six-serial-port chassis does not change.
Can the EPC-309A poll six serial links and run a database at the same time?
Yes. Six serial ports plus up to 32 GB of DDR4 and a 128 GB SSD are sized for a gateway that polls all six links while writing to an in-box historian or SQL database. The entry Core i3-10110U has only 2 cores and 4 threads, so for that combined duty choose the i5-10210U or i7-10510U — same board, same chassis, only the processor changes.
How much memory and storage can the EPC-309A take?
The EPC-309A ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and supports up to 32 GB — the joint-highest ceiling in the EPC-30XA series. Standard storage is a 128 GB SSD, with either one mSATA drive or one M.2 drive depending on the board fitted. Request the size at order time and CESIPC builds it at the factory.
Can the EPC-309A run machine vision or AI inference?
Only light duty. The 10th Gen Core processors use Intel UHD graphics with no Iris Xe GPU, so vision tools and inference libraries that rely on GPU acceleration run slowly. For camera-based inspection or on-box analytics alongside six serial links, specify the EPC-302A, whose i5-1235U and i7-1250U include Intel Iris Xe graphics and DDR5 memory.
