Who the EPC-302A configuration is for
The EPC-302A is the top configuration of CESIPC’s EPC-30XA fanless embedded industrial PC. It carries a 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1215U, i5-1235U or i7-1250U — up to 10 cores, 12 threads and 4.7 GHz — with 8 GB of DDR5 memory expandable to 32 GB and a 256 GB SSD in one of two M.2 slots, inside the 337 × 160 × 47.5 mm chassis.
Specify it when one box has to do both jobs at once: six DB9 serial links for the machine layer and enough compute for camera-based inspection, defect classification or on-box analytics on the same unit. That combination is what the EPC-30XA 12th Gen configuration is built for.
The i5-1235U and i7-1250U include Intel Iris Xe graphics, which no other EPC-30XA configuration offers. It accelerates GPU-based vision libraries and drives the HDMI and VGA outputs at high resolution without loading the CPU — useful when the same box also runs a serial polling loop. The entry i3-1215U uses Intel UHD graphics.
It is also the only configuration in the series with two M.2 slots and DDR5 memory. Two drives let the unit keep the operating system and an image archive on separate devices, so logging and inspection writes do not wear a single system drive.
Choose a lower configuration if the box only concentrates serial traffic: the EPC-306A, EPC-307A and EPC-309A use the same 337 × 160 × 47.5 mm chassis, the same six DB9 ports and the same 327 × 100 mm installation footprint, and cost less. The 12th Gen board pays off only when the CPU or GPU is the bottleneck.
Choose the right EPC-30XA configuration
All four configurations share the same 337 × 160 × 47.5 mm extruded aluminium chassis, the same mounting bracket and VESA pattern, the same 327 × 100 mm installation footprint, the same 6× DB9 serial (RS-232 ×4 + RS-485 ×2) and the same 2× Intel I210 Gigabit LAN. Only the compute board, memory, storage, USB mix and integrated graphics change.

FAQ
Answers for the EPC-302A build. Platform-wide questions — chassis, protection, mounting and the upgrade path — are answered on the EPC-30XA overview page.
What processors are available in the EPC-302A?
The EPC-302A is built with one of three 12th Gen Intel Core processors: Core i3-1215U (6 cores, 8 threads, 1.2–4.4 GHz, 10 MB cache), Core i5-1235U (10 cores, 12 threads, 1.3–4.4 GHz, 12 MB cache) or Core i7-1250U (10 cores, 12 threads, 1.1–4.7 GHz, 12 MB cache). All three fit the same board and the same six-serial-port 337 × 160 × 47.5 mm chassis.
Which EPC-302A processor has Intel Iris Xe graphics?
The Core i5-1235U and the Core i7-1250U include Intel Iris Xe graphics; the entry Core i3-1215U uses Intel UHD graphics. Iris Xe is the reason to pick this configuration when the same box has to run GPU-accelerated vision or analytics alongside six serial links, because no other EPC-30XA board offers it.
How much memory and storage does the EPC-302A support?
The EPC-302A ships with 8 GB of DDR5 memory and supports up to 32 GB, and it is the only configuration in the EPC-30XA series with two M.2 slots plus 256 GB of standard SSD storage. Two drives let you keep the operating system and an image or data archive on separate devices, which reduces write wear on the system drive.
Does running vision or analytics affect the six serial ports?
No. The six DB9 ports come from the board’s own serial controllers and are independent of the CPU load and the M.2 storage, so a vision pipeline reading a camera over USB 3.0 does not disturb the RS-232 and RS-485 polling loop. Ten cores, 12 threads, DDR5 memory and Iris Xe graphics are sized so both workloads can run on the same unit.
