Who the EPC-W2472A configuration is for
The EPC-W2472A is the second Celeron configuration of CESIPC’s 23.6-inch (24-inch class) fanless panel PC. It uses an Intel Celeron J6412 quad-core processor (2.0–2.6 GHz, 10 W TDP) — two generations newer than the J1900 — with 8 GB DDR4 memory expandable to 16 GB and a 128 GB mSATA SSD, inside the same IP65 chassis and 562.7 × 338.4 mm cutout as the rest of the series.
Choose it over the EPC-W2462A when the panel needs more running memory or a bigger system drive: 16 GB of DDR4 instead of 8 GB of DDR3L, and two USB 3.0 ports instead of one. Standard storage is the same 128 GB SSD on both. That headroom is what lets one panel run a heavier HMI project, a local historian or an edge gateway alongside the operator screen without changing hardware.
It also carries two USB 3.0 ports instead of one, which matters when a panel has to read a USB 3.0 camera, a fast USB stick or an external SSD. The remaining four USB 2.0 ports still cover scanners, keyboards and USB-to-serial adapters.
Specify the EPC-W2472A when you want a modern, long-lifecycle Celeron board that can grow with the software over the life of the machine, but the workload still does not justify a Core i3, i5 or i7. If the panel will run vision inspection or several applications at once, move up to the EPC-W2492A or EPC-W2422A instead.
One caveat: the J1900 in the EPC-W2462A is the only board CESIPC lists Windows 7 support for. The J6412 ships with Windows 10, Windows 11 or Ubuntu 16.04–22.04, so verify legacy HMI software compatibility before standardising on this configuration.

All four configurations share the same 23.6-inch 1920 × 1080 IP65 panel, the same 589.3 × 361.2 × 75.1 mm chassis and the same 562.7 × 338.4 mm cutout. Only the compute board, memory, storage, USB mix and integrated graphics change.

Can the EPC-W2472A run a local database or historian on the panel itself?
Yes, within limits. 8 GB of DDR4 expandable to 16 GB and a 128 GB mSATA SSD are enough for a single-site historian, an OPC UA or MQTT gateway plus an HMI. For a larger database, several concurrent clients or in-panel analytics, specify the EPC-W2492A with up to 32 GB DDR4 or the EPC-W2422A with DDR5 instead — the touchscreen and cutout stay the same.
Does the EPC-W2472A support Windows 7?
No. CESIPC lists Windows 7 support only for the Celeron J1900 board in the EPC-W2462A. The EPC-W2472A with its Celeron J6412 ships with Windows 10, Windows 11, or Linux Ubuntu 16.04 / 18.04 / 20.04 / 22.04, so legacy HMI runtimes that require Windows 7 should stay on the EPC-W2462A.
