Who the EPC-209A configuration is for
The EPC-209A is the 10th Gen Intel Core configuration of CESIPC’s EPC-20XA fanless embedded industrial PC. It is built with one of three 15 W processors — Core i3-10110U, i5-10210U or i7-10510U — up to 4 cores, 8 threads and 4.9 GHz on the i7, with 8 GB of DDR4 memory expandable to 32 GB and a 128 GB SSD.
Specify it when the box has to do more than convert protocols: a gateway plus a local historian, an OPC UA or MQTT server alongside the machine interface, in-box SQL logging, or several SCADA clients on one unit. Up to 32 GB of DDR4 and a Core i7-10510U at 4.9 GHz keep the foreground interface responsive while background work runs.
The i-Door bay is what makes the EPC-20XA flexible: extra isolated serial ports, a 5-port Gigabit LAN card, a CAN bus interface or a 5G module can be added over a board-to-board connector without an external converter in the cabinet, so the box grows with the machine instead of being replaced.
It carries four USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, which suits a machine-vision camera, USB 3.0 data sticks or an external SSD while still leaving two USB 2.0 ports for a keyboard and a legacy USB-to-serial adapter. Intel UHD graphics drive both display outputs.
Choose the EPC-202A instead when the workload is GPU-bound: camera inspection, on-box analytics or edge inference. The 12th Gen boards add Iris Xe graphics on the i5 and i7, which the 10th Gen UHD graphics cannot match — the 229 × 160 × 79 mm chassis and the i-Door bay are identical.
Choose the right EPC-20XA configuration
All four configurations share the same 229 × 160 × 79 mm extruded aluminium chassis, the same mounting bracket and VESA pattern, the same 219 × 100 mm installation footprint, the same 3× DB9 serial (RS-232 ×2 + RS-485 ×1) and the same 2× Intel I210 Gigabit LAN. They also share the i-Door expansion bay.

What processors are available in the EPC-209A?
The EPC-209A is built with one of three 15 W 10th Gen Intel Core processors: Core i3-10110U (2 cores, 4 threads, 2.1–4.1 GHz, 4 MB cache), Core i5-10210U (4 cores, 8 threads, 1.6–4.2 GHz, 6 MB cache) or Core i7-10510U (4 cores, 8 threads, 1.8–4.9 GHz, 8 MB cache). All three use Intel UHD graphics and the same board, so the choice changes neither the 229 × 160 × 79 mm chassis nor the i-Door bay.
What does the i-Door bay add to the EPC-209A?
It lets the interface be extended over a board-to-board connector instead of an external converter. i-Door cards cover extra isolated serial ports, a 5-port Gigabit LAN card, a CAN bus interface and a 5G module. Because it is an internal connector, the sealed enclosure stays intact and there is one less DIN-rail device to wire and power in the cabinet.
How much memory and storage can the EPC-209A take?
The EPC-209A ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and supports up to 32 GB — the joint-highest ceiling in the EPC-20XA series. Standard storage is a 128 GB SSD, with either one mSATA drive or one M.2 drive depending on the board fitted. Request the memory and storage size at order time and CESIPC builds it at the factory.
Can the EPC-209A run machine vision or AI inference?
Only light duty. The 10th Gen Core processors use Intel UHD graphics with no Iris Xe GPU, so vision tools and inference libraries that rely on GPU acceleration run slowly. For camera-based inspection, defect classification or on-box analytics, specify the EPC-202A, whose i5-1235U and i7-1250U include Intel Iris Xe graphics and DDR5 memory.
